Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan thoroughly or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until a thick, stiff dough forms.
- Press the dough mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan using a spatula.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until completely smooth and airy.
- Gradually add 2 eggs one at a time, followed by the granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is velvety and pale.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake base, spreading it carefully to the edges.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the edges are golden brown while the center remains slightly soft with a slight jiggle.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool completely in the pan to let the layers set before cutting into squares.
