Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground chicken
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado or grapeseed)
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced (whites and greens separated)
- 1/3 cup raw honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil in a 12-inch large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the ground chicken to the skillet in one large flat patty. Let it sear undisturbed for 4 minutes until a deep golden-brown crust forms on the bottom.
- Break the chicken into small bite-sized crumbles with a wooden spoon. Stir in the white parts of the green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, and cornstarch until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture. Stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and encapsulates the chicken in a sticky glaze.
- Garnish with the green parts of the sliced onions, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
