Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado or grapeseed)
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced (whites and greens separated)
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil in a 12-inch large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the ground chicken to the skillet in one large flat patty. Let it sear undisturbed for 4 minutes until a deep golden-brown crust forms on the bottom.
  3. Break the chicken into small bite-sized crumbles with a wooden spoon. Stir in the white parts of the green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, and cornstarch until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture. Stir constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and encapsulates the chicken in a sticky glaze.
  6. Garnish with the green parts of the sliced onions, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
