Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. In a small microwave-safe glass bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, and cayenne pepper until the mixture is uniform and pale yellow.
  2. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat on medium power (50%) in 20-second bursts. Whisk thoroughly between each burst until the sauce is warm to the touch and slightly fluid. Do not allow it to boil.
  3. Whisk in the lemon juice. Gradually stream in the melted butter while whisking constantly until the sauce becomes glossy and velvety. If too thick, whisk in one teaspoon of warm water at a time to reach the desired consistency.
