Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (Old-Fashioned)
  • 1/2 cup Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy)
  • 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds (Optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup or Honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch Fine Sea Salt
  • Fresh Berries, Sliced Banana, or Chopped Nuts (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and salt to a sealable jar. Gently stir to ensure even distribution of the dry components.
  2. Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture vigorously for 30–60 seconds, ensuring that no clumps of oats or pockets of dry chia seeds remain stuck to the bottom or sides of the container.
  4. Seal and Chill: Affix the lid tightly to the jar or container. Place the oats in the refrigerator and chill for a minimum of 8 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing them to fully hydrate.
  5. Assess and Adjust: The following morning, open the jar and check the texture. If the oats are too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of additional milk until the desired creaminess is achieved.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top the chilled oats with fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, or a drizzle of additional sweetener just before serving.
