Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Rolled Oats (Old-Fashioned)
- 1/2 cup Milk (Dairy or Non-Dairy)
- 1/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup or Honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Pinch Fine Sea Salt
- Fresh Berries, Sliced Banana, or Chopped Nuts (for topping)
Instructions:
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and salt to a sealable jar. Gently stir to ensure even distribution of the dry components.
- Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract.
- Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture vigorously for 30–60 seconds, ensuring that no clumps of oats or pockets of dry chia seeds remain stuck to the bottom or sides of the container.
- Seal and Chill: Affix the lid tightly to the jar or container. Place the oats in the refrigerator and chill for a minimum of 8 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing them to fully hydrate.
- Assess and Adjust: The following morning, open the jar and check the texture. If the oats are too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of additional milk until the desired creaminess is achieved.
- Garnish and Serve: Top the chilled oats with fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, or a drizzle of additional sweetener just before serving.
